Introducing WWII
World War II was one of the most devastating and monumental wars of all time and it will forever effect our culture and the way we live our lives today. World War II was started and fought between the Axis and the Allied Powers due to a thirst for revenge and territory. This especially applied to Germany because they were left in a state of utter despair and poverty after World War I and Hitler would do anything possible to gain Germany back the power and land he thought they deserved. Some of the major Allied Powers were: The United States, Great Britain, Canada, France, China, Poland, and the Soviet Union. The other side of the battlefield included: Germany, Japan, Italy, Romania, and Bulgaria, which were known as the axis powers. During the WWII there were many significant events that occurred, such as: Stalingrad, the Holocaust, the bombing of Pearl Harbor, and the invasion of Normandy. All of these events later influenced and fueled the start of the Cold War.
